Inclusion and Universal Health Coverage for Children, Adolescents & Adults affected by HIV/AIDS

This year presents several important global opportunities to ensure that HIV-affected children and families are not left behind in the pursuit of the SDGs.   First and foremost, Universal Health Coverage (UHC) is being discussed at the World Health Assembly in May, at the UNAIDS Board Meeting in June and at a High Level Political Meeting in September. Meanwhile, a global High Level Political Forum on Sustainable Development in July is focused on ‘inclusiveness and equality.’

Let’s all use these opportunities to raise awareness of the exclusion of children and families affected by HIV and AIDS, and to champion efforts to ensure that they are not left behind.

Undoubtedly, we will have more impact if we speak with one voice. Coalition Members have come together behind common advocacy messages and calls to action. We now urge others in the HIV community, and beyond, to join with us in calling for particular consideration and action for children, adolescents and adults affected by HIV and AIDS.
