  • The Global Initiative to Support Parents (GISP) released its first progress report, highlighting the significant achievements and collaborative impact of its partners in empowering parents and caregivers worldwide. Read now.
  • UNICEF has launched a new global platform for adolescent mental health. This is a dynamic global platform dedicated to enhancing the mental health and well-being of adolescents and their caregivers. Discover more here.
  • The World Health Organisation and the Lego Foundation have created a joint-initiative to scale up evidence-based parenting programs through the health sector, including adolescent health. Learn more here.
  • A new technical resource has been launched by the World Health Organisation on Improving HIV testing for men and linking services through faith platforms. Read about promising models that demonstrate how faith based organizations could contribute to expanded access to improved HIV, and, other services for this demographic.
  • A new , global initiative; the Good Start Challenge has been launched by the Van Leer Foundation and supported by the FEMSA Foundation, Fundação Maria Cecilia Souto Vidigal, and the LEGO Foundation, to advance innovative solutions that strengthen the wellbeing of parents and caregivers.   • The Stephen Lewis Foundation has published a report on understanding the impact of the U.S. Funding Loss on the HIV Response. Read it here.
  • The Global Fund Advocates Network have released reprogramming resources, analysis and tools to help implementers, advocates, and communities. See here for shared tools, information, and collective learning.
  • The Digital Health and Rights Project Consortium have produced a new report: Paying the Costs of Connection. This report was co-created with over 300 young adults in Columbia, Ghana, Kenya and Vietnam and shares insights into how marginalised young adults are paying the costs of connecting to health online.   • UNICEF has published an article warning that foreign aid funding cuts are depriving hard-to-reach children of essential health care. Read it here.

Events

  • In May, the 78th World Health Assembly – a gathering of delegates from the 194 Member States comprising the decision-making body of WHO – took place in Geneva, Switzerland. The Assembly also adopted several resolutions with specific relevance to the global children’s issues community. Read more about the outcomes of the Assembly here.
  • On 3 June, Zvandiri, the World Health Organisation and UNICEF hosted a webinar: Thrive95 in Action: a discussion with Government leaders , about scaling and sustaining peer led services for all children and adolescents living with HIV. Find out more here.
  • Catherine Connor from The Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation joined the Developed Country NGO Delegation and the Global Fund Advocates Network for a webinar on the Global Fund, digital health and human rights on Wednesday 18th June. Find out more here.
  • The 56th UNAIDS PCB Meeting took place between 24-26 June. Felicia Wong, Fund Director at Robert Carr Fund and others were in attendance. Find out more here.
  • IAS 2025: the 13th IAS Conference on HIV Science take place in-person in Kigali, Rwanda and virtually from 13th – 17th July. Find out more here.
  • The 9th International Workshop on Adolescence, SRHR & HIV 2025 is being hosted in Gaborone, Botswana from 1–3 October. You can find out more about registration and abstract submissions here.
