Children and HIV: Equity Now! Reaching all Children in the Epidemic

A Symposium hosted by The Coalition for Children Affected by AIDS and The Teresa Group

Dates: Friday July 15th and Saturday July 16th 2016.

Venue: Southern Sun Elangeni and Maharani Hotel, 63 Snell Parade, Durban, South Africa.

While impressive progress has been made in the last decade, much work remains. Our sixth biennial symposium, to be held on the beautiful shores of the Indian Ocean, will address this important question:

With the epidemic still negatively affecting such vast numbers of children, adolescents and families, how do we ensure that we include those most in need, those most often missed, forgotten, or excluded—those who aren’t benefitting from traditional policies, funding and programming?

Over two exciting days, service providers, donors, researchers, advocates and policy leaders will debate and explore emerging evidence and promising programs, and identify the issues and the children who most need our support.

Program Overview:

The two-day program includes plenary sessions, concurrent sessions, debates, workshops, opening and closing sessions, receptions and entertainment.

We are asking presenters to adopt an equity-focused lens and come with new evidence, ideas, and approaches in five key areas tackled in our previous symposia in Toronto, Mexico City, Vienna, Washington and Melbourne:
